Understand how to the use of these options can impact the reliability and maintenance of these systems.Learn the NFPA 13 requirements for Freeze protection of system components, specifically utilizing the options of dry pipe systems, pre-action systems, insulation and heat tracing.Participants will learn to identify and apply the items that need to be considered when making a choice on how best to provide adequate freeze protection. The design considerations for Nitrogen systems will be discussed in detail. The design limitations and economic impact (including maintenance) of using dry pipe systems, preaction systems, insulation, and heat tracing will be reviewed.
